The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman My rating: 3 of 5 stars I cannot quite describe how I felt after reading this. This is one of those books that intrigued, baffled, and annoyed me (because I could not make out how I felt about them). The story is dark, horrifying and amazing at the same time. You can never tell if the events really happened, or the boy has them all in his head. There are more questions than answers, but you are not so desperate to know what they are. One seems resigned to leave the story as-is at the end and quite content to move on. I can only say that it makes me want to read his other non-graphic novel works. I'm pretty certain it will lead me to the Ocean in my Toilet or The Rabbit Hole in my HDB Carpark . View all my reviews

人说‘四十不惑’。是真的吗？我不知道我是不是不惑。但是我知道，我对好些的事情，看得轻了一些，对一些事情，开始释然。我不知道‘顿悟’是什么感觉；但是我很希望我有生之年可以感受一下。活着，不一定要轰轰烈烈。活得值得，不一定就需要舍己成仁。中年四十……我们需背负上一代对我们的期许，和对下一代的责任。重担累累。不容易啊！我们大家默默加油吧！

新加坡的全名是 Republic of Singapore 新加坡共和國。“共和”的意義，是民主，自由，平等。“共和”的精神是”人人為我，我為人人“。  穿白衣，並不代表內心不晦暗。看著那群白衫白褲的“官”，終日以“道”自居，利益當前，還是犧牲了土生土長的老百姓。 看看孫中山，用 “中山裝”講“共和”，讓那些躲在“行政權”背後的那些白衣人，看起來就像一幫小丑，自導自演的排著一齣戲劇。 知道什麼是“直接民權“嗎？ “直接民權“ 是普通民眾都有權參政、議政。看看吧！如果做不到，就把”共和“兩個字拿掉。 ”為民“，”為國“－ 這些“共和”的意義，你們這些英校生的”官“，應該都不懂吧？
